Road To Splendour: Violent Soho

Road To Splendor is our chance to get everyone excited about the acts playing at this years Splendor In The Grass, but one thing that is consistent throughout all SITG Festivals is the lack of electronic music, which gives us a chance to showcase a lot of music we may tend to miss due to our heavy focus of dance. It’s with pleasure that our first Road To Splendor introduces Queensland’s own Violent Soho

Signed to Thurston Moore’s label Ecstatic Peace Records, Violent Soho have had a whirlwind 2 years. After releasing a self funded LP they were picked up and taken all over the world to showcase their sound, eventually being picked up by Thurston to release their Self Titled LP in March this year.

Although this record is going to make waves in the indie world, I’m not 100% sold on it. They have brought back grunge, but to be honest, I’m surprised it has taken this long. Great support for a festival headlined by 90′s grunge/punk legends The Pixies.
