Today I wanted to share a collection of different tracks that have been sent to me, and until just recently, have been sitting in my iTunes library collecting dust and now that I have a forum in which to share them, i am pretty excited, because some of which have been hard to find and need some well deserved plays.
Hot Chip can be very hit or miss, and their new single ‘One Life Stand‘ is no exception. Although I’m not a huge fan of the original, there is a remix i found by Joris Voorn that I loved, that has a very minimalist approach to the original. It feels well weighted throughout the whole track and the subtlety of the verse synth sits well in between the vocoder vocals.

Simian Mobile Disco have recently released their second single from their album ‘Temporary Pleasure‘, titled ‘Cruel Intentions‘. The original itself is outstanding (as almost everything is that comes from SMD) but it also features the vocal talent of Beth Ditto (Gossip). I have found a remix by DJ Pierre that has stood up to the original in its own right.

Dim Mak Records have signed and release new electro/punk band All Leather, fronted by punk legend Justin Pearson (The Locust, Holy Molar, Some Girls, Swing Kids, Three One G Records). The Sqzmylmns remix of their track ‘Audios Mi Amoebas’ remind me of bands like The Chinese Stars or even the early demos of My Disco (had they been produced by The Bloody Beetroots).
